4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring: Hugo de Sadeleer finishes 15th after a race full of twists
This weekend’s race was difficult on the Spielberg circuit for Hugo de Sadeleer and his teammates. The challenge was huge as the Team started the race in 12th position.
4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring: a disappointing race
From the start, Hugo de Sadeleer’s Ligier #32 lost 4 positions due to traffic but after only 30 minutes of racing, he climbed to 14th place. Then, Hugo had to make a longer pit stop than expected after a collision… His vehicle was indeed hit in the rear. He then entered the circuit in 17th position with one lap down.
Then in 15th position, Boyd took the wheel of the Ligier #32 for several laps, before passing the torch to Hugo. Hugo de Sadeleer and his teammates finished the race in 16th position after having achieved the fastest lap with his Ligier #32 in the last moments of the race.
However, Hugo and his teammates are not over yet… Following technical checks after the race, the Oreca n°29 of Duqueine Engineering was disqualified because of its fuel not in conformity with organizers orders. The drivers thus take 15th place in the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring classification.
Hugo and his teammates were hoping for a better performance for these 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring but a series of unfortunate events prevented them from achieving this goal.
After his race, Hugo de Sadeleer said: “My start wasn’t great partly because the car in front was slow away at the green light. I then found myself boxed in and had to back out costing me places. I was stuck in traffic and was rear-ended which was very disappointing – there is no need for that kind of driving. We had very good race pace but suffered from our start position.”
