Luck wasn’t on Hugo’s side at the 4 Hours of Silverstone

Highly awaited at Silverstone in England, Hugo and United Autosports were only able to snatch the 10th position due to a puncture that occurred while they were fighting for the top 5. Despite this result, Hugo would like to highlight the many improvements seen over the weekend. A good sign for the end of the season!

Hugo close to the podium

Starting from tenth place after a satisfying qualifications session, the Ligier JS P217 n° 32 of United Autosports experienced a turbulent race.

From the beginning of the 4 Hours of Silverstone, Hugo and Wayne had to fight hard to make their way into the top teams and get a chance to climb on the podium. A fight which undoubtedly left some traces and notably caused a loss of grip during the last two hours of the race, but which allowed them to position themselves in fourth place, halfway through the race.

Bad luck hits United Autosports again

In the last hour of the race, bad luck hit Hugo and his team again. While the young Swiss pilot was on board the n°32 single-seater, he was hit by a slower LMP3 due to traffic. This incident resulted in a puncture just 24 minutes before the end of the 4 Hours of Silverstone.

Luckily, the damage was not too important and the team was able to finish the race in tenth place, from where they had started the race.

After the 4 Hours of Silverstone, Hugo said: “I think we have a lot of positives to take from this weekend, as we fixed a lot of the issues we were having earlier in the year. We didn’t have the position we’d have liked in Qualifying, we had pace, but we tried to make sure that the car would ease into the race. Unfortunately, though it was difficult to drive, loose on the rear. In traffic it was nice, but overall it was tricky. Then at the end I got tapped by an LMP3, who turned in on me. It was a real shame, we could have scored some real points.
