Blancpain GT World Challenge: Hugo de Sadeleer finishes the season in style!
The 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge season ended yesterday on the famous Hungaroring circuit in Hungary. Hugo de Sadeleer and Team R-Motorsport were present for the last race, and once again shone brightly. They have indeed climbed on the podium of their category during the two races of the weekend!
Two podiums on the Hungaroring
For its first season in Blancpain GT World Challenge, R-Motorsport can be satisfied with the performance of its drivers competing in the Silver Cup. Hugo and Aaro offered the Swiss team the second place in the overall ranking of their category. A result that rewards the efforts of Hugo, his teammate, and all the teams.
This weekend, the two drivers involved once again excelled on the Hungaroring circuit, by finishing twice on the podium. Until the end, they will have kept a chance to win the title in the Silver Cup. Hugo’s teammate Aaro Vainio said: “Of course, we would like to have won but can be just as proud with second place“.
An exceptional first year
For their first year, Hugo and Aaro impressed by their regularity. Out of the ten races scheduled on the calendar, they finished in the points nine times, appearing seven times on the podium.
As Hugo recalls the achievements of the past year, he said: “Of course, I particularly remember our race weekend at Misano where we won both races” before Florian Kamelger, team manager, continued: “Aaro and Hugo showed that they are among the best junior drivers in the field with second place in the final rankings of the Silver Cup classification and finishes in the Top Ten in both races in Budapest“.
