Hugo and United Autosports on the podium of the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
The 24 Hours of Le Mans 2018 was fast paced even away from the track and paddocks for Hugo de Sadeleer, Juan Pablo Montoya, Will Owen and the United Autosports team.
A few hours after crossing the finishing line of the legendary Le Mans event, the Ligier # 32 in fact found itself promoted to third place, following the exclusion of the Oreca 07–Gibson No. 26 G-Drive Racing (Rusinov–Pizzitola–Vergne) and the No. 28 TDS Racing (Perrodo–Vaxivière–Duval).
Having come fourth in 2017, Hugo saw his efforts rewarded this year, taking his place on the Le Mans podium for the first time, on only his second year competing in the event!
This decision was taken after an irregularity in the refuelling rig was noted by the race controllers.
The competitors have expressed their intention to appeal the decision (no. 74 and no. 75) and have 96 hours to confirm it. The results of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2018 therefore remain provisional.
