Another podium finish for Hugo at the Nürburgring!
This weekend, Hugo and the R-Motorsport team competed in another round of the Blancpain GT World Challenge at the legendary Nürburgring circuit in Germany. In this latest round, Hugo and team-mate Aaro Vainio once again managed to end up on the podium in their category, achieving a third-place finish.
A somewhat unexpected podium for Hugo
Highly anticipated by the drivers, the Nürburgring represents one of the most exciting challenges of the season, especially when it happens to come at a crucially decisive time of the season, at the end of the championship.
The weekend didn’t start well for the R-Motorsport crew, team number 62. Due to an accident that occurred with Aaro at the wheel of their Aston Martin, Hugo and his team-mate ended up missing the qualifying sessions.
But no matter. Despite being well down the grid at the start of the race, Hugo and Aaro once again demonstrated their considerable talent by managing to achieve fifth place on Saturday and a podium finish on Sunday!
Next round: the Hungaroring
After this highly successful weekend for R-Motorsport, Team Director Florian Kamelger called it “a fantastic result!” adding, “And furthermore, Aaro and Hugo’s podium finish in the Silver Cup championship really made it a perfect for day us.”
Hugo will be travelling to the Hungaroring in Hungary for his next race this weekend, where he will once again attempt to lift himself into the ranks of the best drivers in his category.
